Balsamic glazed cherries - three ingredients and ten minutes to a simple, delicious dessert topping.

Serves: 4-6
  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons sugar (to taste)
  • 2 Tablespoons good balsamic vinegar (syrupy and mellow)
  1. Pit and halve enough fresh cherries to make two cups.
  2. Heat a small sauté pan, and add cherries, sugar and one tablespoon balsamic vinegar.
  3. On medium high heat, cook for 2 minutes (no more than 3 minutes, max).
  4. Remove from heat, let cool for about a minute then add the second tablespoon of balsamic vinegar.
  5. Serve warm or cold, over dessert.
